Hi, my name is Kevin and I need a new home. I am currently being fostered by a nurse from The Animal Hospital, after I had to have a surgery to remove one of my back legs after a car accident. I am doing great and my disability doesn’t affect me. I am still able to play and run around. I love to be rubbed and have my head and chin petted. I enjoy playing in boxes and bags. I am fine with other animals but I would prefer a home with no young children and a new owner that has previous experience looking after cats. I have been already neutered and I am about 1 year of age. I have been given all my vaccinations and am up to date with worming and flea preventions.

Hello, my name is Mufasa. I have been hand reared by one of the nurses at the Animal Hospital and i am now ready to start my new life in a new home. I am 15 weeks old and am very active and playful. I enjoy chasing after things and climbing and sleeping in my cosy warm bed after cuddles. I have been vaccinated and wormed and am fully vet checked.

Hi, my name is Miley and I have been under the care of the girls at The Animal Hospital for a few weeks now. I wasn’t feeling too well but after great care i am now ready for a forever home. I am 7-8 months old and i have been spayed recently. I have started a vaccination course but i will require one more. I have been wormed and treated with flea preventions. I am a very affectionate cat who loves nothing more than attention. I enjoy rubs and will purr loudly when I am happy.

Cilla Black

Hello, I am Cilla. I am best known for my very pretty eyes and my lovely white socks. I am also about under 1 year old and have been spayed already. I am crazy about my food and love nothing more than a tasty dish! I have been wormed and treated with flea preventions. I have had 1 of my vaccinations but I will require another. I am getting bored in my kennel here as i am a very active cat. I would love to go to my forever home soon so I can stretch my legs more.

If you think you may be able to give one of cats a loving new home please contact us on 4515930 to arrange a meeting. Some of them are in foster care with nurses but can still be arranged. Please feel free to share as homing older cats is never easy but they deserve a better life too!

This month we have a very special Pet of the month. Meet lovable Ace. He is a working dog and he has been taking care of his owner Robert for many years as part of The Irish Guide Dogs. Though he is with Robert as he has a job to do they have also become great pals over the years.

When Ace became unwell last week, it was Roberts turn to take care of him. He had a rare problem called a GDV (gastric dilation volvulus). This is a very serious and potentially fatal occurrence in large dogs, were the stomach flips over on itself and causes a trapping of gases. Surgery is needed to fix the problem. Many dogs do not survive this if prompt action is not taken.Lucky for Ace, his owner brought him immediately to the emergency hospital were an X-ray was taken to confirm there suspicions.

Ace had to be carefully observed for several days after his surgery. It has now been 9 days since his surgery and he is doing well. He is a model patient, never complaining and always friendly. His owners should be proud of him!

He will soon be able to get back to work as a guide dog!

Blondie came to us early of this year as a stray. Her matted coat was in such bad condition that we had no choice but to shave her and start again. After a lot of love, care and attention from the team at The Animal Hospital, she slowly began to come out of her shell. She was brought up to date with vaccinations and worming and also spayed. She is about 2 years old.

As her coat began to grow back, we started to look for a new home for her. A lovely couple gave her a loving home, but unfortunately their other cats were bullying her and we took her back for re homing.

Her coat is now in great condition, though it does require daily brushing. Blondie does enjoy this activity. She is extremely affectionate and loving and will make an excellent family pet. If you think you might be able to offer her a forever home, please come in to the clinic to meet her. For more information please contact us on 01- 4515930.

Hello Everyone…

Message from a little pooch…

My name is ‘Dougal’, and I was a stray. The kind folks at Tallaght Garda Station rescued me from a busy road, and rehomed me with Elsie and Carolyn… It’s a good life… I’m well fed, watered, walked and loved… What more could a pooch want…

Sadly, Elsie is not very well… She’s in kidney failure, on dialysis and has Parkinson’s Disease… Carolyn’s her sole carer, and she gets fantastic help from Cathy, Natashia (Elsie’s carer from the Carers Association.) and all the kind people at the Carers Association…

I’ve decided that I should do my bit and raise some money to help this very worthy cause… So on April 25th (Easter Monday) I’ll be going walkies for carers… I’m doing the Carers Association’s National Dog walk in Santry, Dublin…

I, Elsie, and particularly, Carolyn would very much appreciate it if you could sponsor me… Any amount, however small is a very big help, and would be very much appreciated… Last year, I raised the most money of all the participating pooches, and I’d really love to retain my title!!!… competitive, me???… LOL!!!….

Thanks everyone….
